Lepidoptera and Mushrooms

Six-spot Burnets were on the knapweed yesterday lunchtime, and a Small Copper was a new butterfly for the year at least



In the wetter areas where there's some grass there were a couple of Marsh Waxcaps (Agrocybe paludosa)

Entoloma papillata - for obvious reasons.Entolomas are usually grassland species, and this one's no different.

Divit migrants (section: insects)

The big influx of Painted Lady butterflies hasn't left Inverkeithing out and there are plenty on the coastal path. Less noticed by most people is the influx of Scaeva pyrastri hoverflies. There are actually more of those about in the Divit than the butterflies, but you have to be looking to see them.
