Sunny morning in the Divit, but not much doing in terms of visible migration. A few Linnets (13) popped up on the coastal bushes before disappearing again. No Grebes were around, Little, GC or Slavonian, and there was precious little on the river - A
Shag, A handful of
Eider and some gulls. One pair of
Goldeneye still hanging about the harbour and one
RB Merganser made a foray into the quarry. A few waders still in the harbour too, with 7
Curlew, a dozen or so
Redshank, and some
Oycs.
Some Pied Wags seem to have taken up residence on the half demolished toilet block of the old hotel/bar/whatever it was. Could be an ill-advised choice of nest site.
Looking back over last year's records on trek I see that there was a note of a "fall" of
Song Thrush late March. Given a similar bulge in the numbers around the 20th-22nd this year I guess this could be an annual occurrence to be watched for.
